Direct2Drive’s 5th Anniversary = Deals!

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

Direct2Drive is turning 5 years old!

The digital game distribution website has decided to throw a big sale to commemorate the occasion. Every Monday for the next 5 4 weeks (I missed the first week, ohnoes!) they will update their sales page with new games that are only $5 each. I’m not talking just about crappy games no one wants, I’m talking Grade A titles here, people!

The schedule is as follows:

This week - ACTION
Week 3 - RPG/MMO Games
Week 4 - Indie Games
Week 5 - War Games

This week’s most notable titles (imho) include The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, BioShock, Sid Meier’s Pirates!, and Max Payne 2. If you have missed out on any of these games, $5 is well worth the price of admission.

What do you guys think? I’m interested to see what kind of MMO deals they have for us next week. If I can get another copy of WoW for $5, I might just have to get a second account. Heck, maybe they’ll do something crazy and offer something brand new like Champions or Aion for dirt cheap. Would you bite if they did?

GameFly Daily Deals: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

Apparently, GameFly is doing a daily deal where they will heavily discount one or two video games and offer free shipping. Today’s deal is Star Wars: The Force Unleashed on the three home console systems.

Oh, and just in case you were worried, GameFly’s used games always come with a case and manual. And they’re guaranteed. Nothing wrong with that!

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (Wii) $19.99

The PS3 and XBox360 versions are already sold out, as of this posting. Sorry!

The Cheapy Side: Best Buy

Sunday, March 1st, 2009

Doing my typical morning site-browsing, I happened upon a couple fantastic deals over at Best Buy that are starting today.

First up we have a great bargain for anyone who is looking to go see Watchman and has an XBox360 (or wants one). The deal is buy a new XBox360 or any XBox Live product (ie. Subscription Months, Microsoft Points, etc.) and you can get a Watchman movie pack for free. No big whoop, right? Well, yeah… except that the pack not only comes with XBox Live content, but it also includes 2 free tickets to the movie. Yup. This is part of their Sunday ad, so expect the offer to be limited to this week only. A link to the BestBuy.com sale page can be found here.

The other big sale that starts today is a company-wide Anime clearance sale. This will be a huge sale that starts today (March 1) and ends March 22. Not every Best Buy store will be having these sales, as the 200 top Anime-selling stores will continue to stock the merchandise. All the other stores, however, are trying to get rid of their collections.

What does that mean? BIG savings for us! Hit the jump for a complete list of participating stores.

[Edit: I have done away with the normal list and attached an image with all of the store numbers that are having the sale. Same deal, though: find the stores closest to you, it will list their numbers, then check the list. I had one store in my area having the sale, and can confirm that this is legit. --DrkAdonis]
