The Shiny Side

After the behemoth that was yesterday’s post, I’m going to keep it short and sweet today.

It’s okay, I know you want to cry a little. Don’t worry, I’ll post again tomorrow!

Anyway, I messed around on the Paladin a little bit last night, leveled a couple times, realized that Paladin + BoA shoulders = lawlmobs. Yeah, life is good.

The only thing that was missing was his STYLE. I mean, he’s big, he’s blue, he looked kinda cool… but a trip to the barber was in order.

Also: he looks like a Klingon. Seriously, what’s not to love about Big Blue?

Woooow. So I’ve been planning this post all day, and I’ve been SLAMMED at work. Let’s see if we can’t squeeze it in before the bell tolls, eh?

We’re going to break it down by character, just for fun!

…Completely Different!

The last few posts have been about World of Warcraft. Yippee! I really am glad to be back in Azeroth. And Outland. And Northrend. I digress!

Today we will shed some light on another major spotlight of my current gaming life: The Chrono Trigger Fan Fest Community Playthrough! *gasps* Wow, that was a mouthful.

So what’s all of this about, you say? Epic RPG action, says I!

You see, the way this works is every day there is a new GPP (Game Play Point) described on the CTFF website. The idea is that everyone in the community who is “playing along” (see what I did there?) will play that section of the game, and save/stop where it tells you to. That way everyone is playing at the same pace and everyone will finish the game together!

For me, this has been a really great excuse to break out Chrono Trigger after a few years of neglect. I bought the DS release last year, but was yet to beat it. At this rate, I’ll have a New Game + save file by the end of next week!

So, I really wanted to throw a shout-out and a great big THANK YOU! to the awesome people over at Fangamer.com for hosting the CTFF.

Cuddlebunny has returned! Rawr!

Didn’t play for a very long time last night. Spent a great deal of time working on installing/configuring some AddOns (I’m so spoiled, I can’t even think about playing with the default UI!) and then ran around to do some Dolanaar quests with Tessa. Some interesting dialogue came out while we killed things.

Tessa: “Stop stealing all of the aggro!”
CB: “What? I’m a tank, that’s my *job*!”
Tessa: “Yes, well… I want to hit things.”
CB: “But you’re a Priest….”
Tessa: “So?”
CB: “…touche.”

I can already tell that this duo is going to be recklessly fun, and possibly suicidal and scary. Just need to make sure she learns how to heal me consistently…

Taking a page out of Roz’s book, I can’t have a post without a screenshot! So here we are before logging off for the night, and you can get an idea of where my UI is headed.

I’m going to axe Macaroon and go back to my “Old Faithful” Bartender4. Not sure if I like the unit frames I’m using yet. I always have X-Perl as a backup if I need to. Also: I friggin’ LOVE SexyMap. It’s so cool!

Knocked out some of my “essential” AddOns last night and created a new Druid to escort my girlfriend’s fresh Priest Datessa around Teldrassil. Good times! She freaked out about the giant spiders, and it took everything in my power to not aggro the whole cave and watch her scream.

We knocked out all of the starting quests and logged in Dolanaar’s inn, peacefully snuggling on the bed while Grunty looked on… er… wow

Grunty is a creeper!

Ahem. Well, then.

On another note, after my account theft scare I finally put an Authenticator on my account. Yay for Droid apps! Adding the authenticator also means that I got a new present in the mail!

So cute! I’m such a pet-a-holic, it’s scary! Or normal. Yes, completely normal. We’ll go with that.

Anyway, day one back in the game was exactly what I hoped it would be - unending fun! Plus, it’s great to see someone completely new to the world (of Warcraft) experiencing everything for the first time. It makes me even MORE eager for Cataclysm, as I’m hoping to experience that a bit myself again soon!

Also: Datessa reached level 7 or 8 before we logged last night. That means it’s time to brush the dust off of the armor, shine up the sword and board, and break out the dreaded Cuddlebunny for tonight’s adventures!
